“wonderful and friendly host” we were there for 15 nights and liked it so much we didn't want to leave. clean, centrally located and the couryard was great, we were in the dalia which has a full kitchen. our tour was pompei and mario was our guide and it was a day i,ll always remember, (thanks mario). as for giussepina, she did not speak much english but we understood each other just fine. there son antonio was a great help with all our arrangements. the employees that cleaned the rooms were great. all in all i would recommend highly.
Assolutamente raccomandato: è in pieno centro.
“Great location, great value” If you'r elooking for 5 star luxury then maybe this isn't the place for you but as comfortable, cosy and convenient place to stay right in the centre of things it would be hard to find a better place. Our room was a good size and even had a bath... a rarity in Italy! Our kitchenette had a double ring burner which was fine for preparing breakfast and the pasta, steak, seafood, salad type dinners we ate. When the weather's fine, the courtyard is the place for an aperitivo and to eat your meals.Couple of minor thoughts... some people may be uncomfortable with the fact that there is no window for ventilation as mentioned by an earlier reviewer. The louvre doors to the room, though, allow ventilation and are lockable and we had no concerns about doing just that and leaving the inner doors open to allow fresh air in whilst we slept.Secondly, there is some traffic noise from the square beyond the courtyard walls but you have ot appreciate that you're staying in the middle of a bustling town. The noise drops off in the evening and we had no trouble sleeping.Overall a great choice for a stay right in the centre of town and only 10 minutes walk to the station. Comfortable, cosy, great value and really friendly hosts.
“At home in Sorrento...” Our trip began in Rome with a stay in Sorrento for a week. We wanted a taste of living in Italy and Villa Elisa filled that desire. It surpassed all the reviews and research I did before booking, not to mention it's a tremendous value. Excellent location for exploration of the Amalfi Coast, Capri etc. Easy to reach from Rome by train to Naples then connecting on the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento or by direct bus from Rome. Villa Elisa is situated in the smaller Piazza Sant Antonino which is around the corner from the more bustling Piazza Tasso and a minute walk to a park with beautiful sea views. At first I stood in the Piazza with my luggage trying to spot it and kept passing it over because the arched & gated, street level entrance is beautifully camouflaged. It was wonderful to be a part of Piazza while being slightly invisible. Beyond the gate is a vine filled walkway that opens up to the courtyard. It's an easy 10 minute walk from the train station and even less to various markets limitless restaurant choices. The elegant courtyard was the perfect background for our big Italian dinners and european breakfasts. We could not have imagined a warmer welcome to Sorrento and hope to return.
"Stunning Value in Sorrento" I stayed in VIlla Elisa for a week in July 09 and, having heard Sorrento was a bit of a tourist trap, was extremely happy with the value for money on offer. Right in the centre of the town (but not noisy, thanks to the courtyard separating the rooms from the street), Elisa is run by a very friendly family who also threw in a great, informative trip to Pompeii for no extra cost. The rooms are large and very clean, and the kitchenette and fridge is a great plus. Over the course of our stay on the Amalfi Coast, we also stayed in Capri and Positano (accomodation which was far more expensive), and I can honestly say that, not only did Villa Elisa represent the best value for money, but that it was the best place we stayed, full stop.
“A charming hideaway right in the heart of Sorrento” We were absolutely thrilled with our week at Villa Elisa. The location is wonderful, right in the heart of the town and yet in it's own private garden courtyard. Rooms are a nice size and the little kitchenette is very handy - we cooked most nights and ate in the courtyard - it was thorougly enjoyable. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
Well, we stumbled on this great place quite by accident! We were unhappy with our accommodation in Sorrento, and were looking for an alternative. we were in Piazza San Antonio, and saw the plaque on the wall, rang the bell, and were offered 2 apartments for the 4 of us. There was limited free Wifi, (unsecured, best in the courtyard, but Ok, in the first apartment)big beds, and one of the apartments had a full kitchen, with everything needed to cook. The second apartment had a cooktop. Each apartment suited 2 people, with clean bathroom, downstairs laundry. The heating is excellent, reverse cycle airconditioning for heating and summer cooling Best of all, were the owners, Mario and Giussepina. Nothing was a problem, The apartment have a gorgeous courtyard, securely separated from the square by a wrought iron gate, The garden is quite beautiful, colourful and peaceful. There is a roof garden also for sunning, and it is so central in the middle of the town. Sorrento is a lovely town, and this made it even better
My wife and I have just got back from our trip to Italy and France. We stayed 6 nights at the Villa Elisa and would recommend this studio apartment. The location is excellent, right in the centre on Piazza St. Antonio. You enter into a small courtyard right off the square and are steps away from everything Sorrento has to offer. There are numerous dining options available. The studio (we had the Azalea) is fairly small, but for 70 Euros a night it was excellent value. The place is spotless, and the owners come and clean every day, did some complimentary laundry for us and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. It was quiet despite the location in the centre. we would return here again. We found a great restaurant in the main square, (on the east side, second place back from the corner of the main street). It has a second floor balcony overlooking the square which you can book, but we sat at street level. We had an amazing meal, with complimentary appetizers and a small desert plate, limoncella, etc. Cost about 100 Euros including wine.
