the location was perfect next to tasso sg the main piazza/across from the walking streets for restaurants and shopping/next to the tourist info office with a panoramic view of the harbour and naples in the distance/a short walk to marina piccoli (boats to capri etc)....and the court yard at the apt was perfect for meals or cocktails (4 tables)....my wife and I are both in the travel biz with many trips under our belt and this stay was 5 star Mr. A. “At home in Sorrento...” Our trip began in Rome with a stay in Sorrento for a week. We wanted a taste of living in Italy and Villa Elisa filled that desire. It surpassed all the reviews and research I did before booking, not to mention it's a tremendous value. Excellent location for exploration of the Amalfi Coast, Capri etc. Easy to reach from Rome by train to Naples then connecting on the Circumvesuviana to Sorrento or by direct bus from Rome. Villa Elisa is situated in the smaller Piazza Sant Antonino which is around the corner from the more bustling Piazza Tasso and a minute walk to a park with beautiful sea views. At first I stood in the Piazza with my luggage trying to spot it and kept passing it over because the arched & gated, street level entrance is beautifully camouflaged. It was wonderful to be a part of Piazza while being slightly invisible. Beyond the gate is a vine filled walkway that opens up to the courtyard. It's an easy 10 minute walk from the train station and even less to various markets limitless restaurant choices. The elegant courtyard was the perfect background for our big Italian dinners and european breakfasts. We could not have imagined a warmer welcome to Sorrento and hope to return. “Great location, great value” If you'r elooking for 5 star luxury then maybe this isn't the place for you but as comfortable, cosy and convenient place to stay right in the centre of things it would be hard to find a better place. Our room was a good size and even had a bath... a rarity in Italy! Our kitchenette had a double ring burner which was fine for preparing breakfast and the pasta, steak, seafood, salad type dinners we ate. When the weather's fine, the courtyard is the place for an aperitivo and to eat your meals. Couple of minor thoughts... some people may be uncomfortable with the fact that there is no window for ventilation as mentioned by an earlier reviewer. The louvre doors to the room, though, allow ventilation and are lockable and we had no concerns about doing just that and leaving the inner doors open to allow fresh air in whilst we slept. Secondly, there is some traffic noise from the square beyond the courtyard walls but you have ot appreciate that you're staying in the middle of a bustling town. The noise drops off in the evening and we had no trouble sleeping. Overall a great choice for a stay right in the centre of town and only 10 minutes walk to the station. “se cortesia e simpatia vuoi trovare a villa elisa devi andare” volevo che il mio compleanno fosse indimenticabile, cosi' e' stato! abbiamo trascorso un fine settimana meraviglioso a villa elisa, una deliziosa struttura situata al centro di Sorrento, grazie all’accogliente giardino e alla stanza pulita e arredata con cura dai colori rilassanti, per non parlare della gentilezza della signora Pinella che ci ha fatto sentire come a casa nostra. I was hard to leave the beautiful Villa Elisa Apartment! It truly felt like a home away from home in Sorrento. Everything about it was accurate, my booking experience was very smooth and we were welcomed with open arms. Perfectly situated in the quaint Piazza Sant Antonino and footsteps from the more bustling Piazza Tasso and all the areas sights.
